Tree Happy is a nonprofit organization that improves and protects our natural environment.

We donate and plant native trees and vegetation, hold community clean ups, educate, recycle and upcycle. By raising awareness in our local community we hope to make an impact globally.
PLANTING NATIVE TREES AND PLANTS
Trees and shrubs improve soil and water conservation, store carbon, moderate local climate by providing shade, regulate temperature extremes, increase wildlife habitat and improve the land's capacity to adapt to climate change. COMMUNITY CLEAN UPS
About 80 percent of trash found at the beach comes from inland sources, from ill-fitting garbage can lids, littering, and more. It can then blow down the watershed into storm drains, creeks, and rivers, and end up at the beach. When winter storms come, this trash is swept out to the ocean, becoming marine debris. Cleaning your neighborhood, even if it's far inland, stops trash where it starts before it can pollute the coast and ocean. https://www.coastal.ca.gov/publiced/neighborhoodcleanups.html
EDUCATE
10 Easy Ways You Can Help the Environment
1. Stop using single use plastics.
2. Incorporate walking or biking to some of your regular short-trip destinations.
3. Turn off lights and unplug devices when you’re not using them.
4. Use LED light bulbs.
5. Eat local and less red meat. By eating less meat you contribute less CO2 to the environment. Consider a flexitarian diet.
6. Change your laundry habits. Choose cold water, full loads, do laundry during off peak times (before 4pm and after 9pm). Highest SCE rates: All year 4 - 9 p.m
7. Set your thermostat to 78 in summer and 67 in winter.
8. Go digital
9. Keep stuff out of the landfill. Sell items you no longer use to thrift shops, have a yard sale, or donate them to charity. Recycle or repurpose everything you can’t get rid of.
10. Use alternative transportation (bus, train, carpool, or bike) to get to work one day per week.
